(Free Press Release) With hip arthroscopy surgery growing at a major rate across the globe, Harvard Healthcare‘s innovative product range is at the forefront of the sector; with their keyhole surgery system offering an alternative and less painful option for patients over open invasive surgery.

Showcasing a variety of arthroscopic devices, Harvard Healthcare is travelling to Medica next month to display their innovative products on an international stage at the largest healthcare exhibition in the world.

Harvard Healthcare will be unveiling their first single use hip arthroscopy access system at the event, together with a unique range of handheld disposable arthroscopic / endoscopic instruments.

Developed in collaboration with a leading international hip arthroscopist, the complete single use hip access system provides easy access into the joint, eliminating the need for costly reusable hip arthroscopy instruments and reduces the problems and infection risks associated with cleaning and re-sterilising narrow lumen instruments.

Harvard‘s disposable hand-held instrument range will also be showcased at the event. Replacing traditional scissor-handle style devices, Harvard‘s products offer a pen-like alternative, including a squeezable grip option -affording the surgeon a more precise, ergonomic and intuitive solution.

Sue Allison, Business Director at Harvard Healthcare, said: “With the UK currently performing over 3500 hip arthroscopy procedures each year, we understand the importance of the market as well as the shortcomings. We are hoping Medica will offer us the opportunity to meet with potential business partners from across the world to discuss the potential of working together to provide a sound solution for clinicians.”

Also on display will be Harvard‘s range of sports injury equipment, including ActiveWrap® - their superior range of thermal compression supports used for heat and ice therapy which have been designed in conjunction with orthopaedic physicians and physical therapists.

Information will also be available on Harvard‘s non-leak cannula which can be used independently or with existing cannulae. The non-leak cannula will optimise fluid management and the surgeon‘s operative view.

Harvard Healthcare‘s range of exciting products will available to see in hall 16 on stand G10 at Medica 2010 which is taking place between 17 20th November 2010.
