Welspun Energy Awarded by Prime Minister at MNRE Solar Power Developers Award Function
Jaipur, September 21, 2013: Welspun Energy Ltd. (WEL), one of India’s leading renewable energy generators has been awarded the ‘Solar Power Developers’award by MNRE. Hon'ble Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh gave the award to Mr Vineet Mittal, Co-Founder and MD, Welspun Energy for being 1st to commission 5 MW Solar Project in Andhra Pradesh under JNNSM Phase-I Batch-I. The award ceremony was held at the Police Lines Stadium, Panipech in Jaipur on 21st September, 2013. Smt Margaret Alva, Governor Rajasthan, Shri Ashok Gehlot, CM Rajasthan and Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Union Minister- MNRE were also present at the event.
The ‘Solar Power Developers’award recognizes Welspun Energy’s ability to commission projects well in advance to the set deadline. The award function was a part of the Solar Power Developers Meet organized by MNRE.
This 5 MW Solar Project setup at Pulivendula, District-YSR, AP was commissioned on 31st December 2011. Completion of this project before schedule, demonstrates Welspun Energy’s expertise in solar project development. WEL focuses on creating a robust value chain, which is essential for timely execution of projects within budgeted cost.
