USHA International Wins National Energy Conservation Award 2013

Government confers USHA with first prize for manufacturing energy efficient ceiling fans

 

New Delhi, USHA International, India’s leading consumer durables manufacturing and marketing company, won the first prize for its energy efficient ceiling fan range at the National Energy Conservation Awards 2013 held in New Delhi today. USHA International received this prestigious award for its maximum contribution among the manufacturers of BEE Star labelled appliances of ceiling fans. Mr. Krishna Shriram, Executive Chairman, USHA International, received the award on behalf of the company from the Honourable President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee in the presence of Shri Jyotiraditya M Scindia, Honourable Minister of State for Power at an award function held at Vigyan Bhawan. The National Energy Conservation Award is an annual award ceremony organized to celebrate National Energy Conservation Day and recognize the contributions of companies from various industries towards the energy saving national mission.

 

On receiving the award, Mr. Krishna Shriram, Executive Chairman, USHA International said, “It is a great honour and pride for USHA to win such a prestigious award. USHA fans took an initiative some years back to launch new energy saving ceiling fan models like Technix which is the lowest power consumption model with 43 watts in the industry. The USHA portfolio of fans which perform best even with low power inputs include Vetra, Exxo, Atom ISI with 5 star BEE rating. These fans contribute significantly to energy conservation. USHA fans are tested for air delivery, input power, service value, safety and mechanical strength and other performance metrics.

The National Energy Conservation Awards are instituted by the Government of India, Ministry of Power. The awards recognize innovations and achievements for efficient utilization and conservation of energy in various sectors including industries, buildings, aviation, and municipalities amongst others.
