Orlando, FL — May 09, 2016 - Turmeric is one of the oldest medicinal spices that is thought to offer a myriad of health benefits. This spice has been used for thousands of years in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine. There are many advantages of using turmeric, and one is its effects on certain pollutants.

Turmeric is believed to be effective for fighting oxidative stress linked with fluoride poisoning. While technological advancement and industrialization have made millions of lives easy, they also carry along certain drawbacks.

Pollution and global warming are among the disadvantages of living in a modern world. While the world continues to fight soil pollution, water pollution, air pollution and other environmental issues, there hasn’t been any measure that could put an end to it.

Fluoride is one of the elements that causes pollution. It is not just mixed in the water but also in the air, especially in industrial belts of huge cities. Fluoride is a harmful chemical, and is typically released by a variety of industrial factories.
Fluoride mixes with the air and water, and then eventually affects human nutrition. Unfortunately, fluoride is believed to negatively affect the brain and cause neurological issues.

The Mohanlal Sukhadia University’s research team suggests a natural way to deal with fluoride poisoning. It is believed that turmeric has the potential ability to fight the harmful effects of fluoride.
It is believed that turmeric fights the neurodegenerative effects of fluoride in the human brain. It also has the ability to protect the brain from further fluoride poisoning.

In the study, it was found that turmeric helped repair cell damage in mice. The mice were divided into four groups and observed for 30 days. It was found that the group exposed with fluoride water without curcumin experienced oxidative stress.

The group treated with turmeric, on the other hand, achieved a reduction is oxidative stress.

According to experts, fluoride has the ability to cross blood brain barrier, and when it does, reactions start to take place. An example of a reaction is the increase in the oxidation stress in the brain tissue. The antioxidants in turmeric are thought to neutralize the oxidation triggered by fluoride, and thus, decrease the stress.
Turmeric contains a phytochemical called curcumin, which is believed to be responsible for many of its therapeutic effects. This active ingredient contains a variety of healing substances, such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties.

Curcumin supplements are widely available nowadays, and the most popular ones are those with a black pepper extract called BioPerine, which is a bioavailability-enhancing ingredient (www.amazon.com/Turmeric-Curcumin-C3-BioPerine-Capsule/dp/B0166KAW8M).
