As each year progresses, there are a number of new technical avenues that both  social media application developers  and the CMS programmer must be aware of in order to stay current. The web content management industry has been particularly focused upon specific trends in recent years - most of which concern how to harness the use of social media.

The PC operating system has made it to mobile devices, making it necessary for developers to address issues such as screen size and touch screens. While most everyone has embraced Windows 8 on androids, smartphones and tablets and the Mac OS on iPhones, it was readily apparent that this necessitated much work in the mobile application arena.

The transition is expected to take a while, however, major players in the game like Microsoft and Apple still have the power to dictate the future of these apps. Regardless of how the execution is effected, the strategy has been going in the right direction.

The trajectory of mobile development has also impacted how websites are being designed and run, as well. In addition, web CMS applications functions are also affected.

The most notable change with regard to mobile apps is that the web experience has become far more tactile than it ever was before. Basically, it is now possible to tap or swipe just about any type of application on any screen. Because of this, content will need to be visible and in tiles or other forms, as opposed to layered behind menus.

Universal design has come to the forefront as an intelligent and responsive attribute that will adapt user experiences around both the user and the device. As a result, the web  CMS programmer  will need to develop apps with features that support multi-touch environments on many different devices, along with the ability to target content.

The above constitutes just a few of the ways that current tactile trends may impact the work of the CMS programmer and social media application developers in the near future.
