Utkarsh 2K12" a National level Techfest was organized at GGI, Bilaspur on 26th April 2012. Various teams including some top engineering colleges in haryana and pgdm colleges from nearby regions participated in the event. A team from SGI (Samalkha Group of Institution), ranked amongst the top
colleges in ncr, also participated in the techfest.
With some very talented teams in the battle ground, over 20 Competitions were held based on Technical theme. More than 100 students from best mba college in ncr and engineering colleges delhi ncr competed in various events.
Students of Samalkha Group Of Institutions. won applauses by showcasing their talent in Technical Fine art Competition. Ashish (1st Year , CSE), and Saurabh (1st Year , ME) participated in Event-"Face Painting". They Secured 1st Position and the other team comprising of Salman Khan (1st Year ME) and Shubhum (1st Year ME) participated in Event "T-shirt painting" and secured 2nd Position. It was a golden performance by team SGI considering that the both these teams comprised of 1st year students.
In the past couple of years SGI has made its mark on the national level too. Team SGI won the 1 st prize at IIT Mumbai, IIT Kharagpur beating out the leading engineering colleges and top mba colleges in india.
