Gwalior, 28th March, 2013: Shriram Fertilizer & Chemicals recently held a farmer field day at Mr. Siyaram Dhakad’s Shriram Super 231 Research Wheat field at Village Singar Chauli Tehsil Kelarus District Morena.
Farmers appreciated the performance of Shriram Super 231Research Wheat as far as plant type, disease tolerance and yields are concerned. Compared to other varieties grown by famers in this area, Super-231 research wheat has more number of tillers per plant (13-16 tillers) and each of the panicle or Baalihas 75-80 grains. This variety has attractive, bold and shining grains.
According to Siyaram Dhakad who has grown Shriram Super 231 in the area of 2 acres, he has got a yield of 22-25 quintals / acre. Further he said that “Shriram Super 231 has given him almost 25-30 % plus yield in comparison to other wheat variety cultivated by him. The variety is suitable to grow in this zone and has capacity to produce high yield in lower input costs.”
