STANARDSVILLE, VA — Renaissance Assisted Living of Greene County will host its premier Artisans for Alzheimer’s event on Saturday, Aug. 23, to benefit the Charlottesville Alzheimer’s Association’s “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” later this year.

The family-oriented event, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and open to the community, will include a variety of arts and crafts from local artists as well as special activities for children. Renaissance Assisted Living is located at 422 William Mills Drive, Stanardsville.

“Standardsville is a flourishing arts community, and hosting the Artisans for Alzheimer’s event here at Renaissance and The Harbor is a special way to bring our community together,” says Liesa Dodson, Marketing Director for Renaissance Assisted Living and The Harbor. “We love and provide quality care for residents every day who are suffering from this disease, and we are just as committed to helping end this disease.”

A number of local artisans and community groups will set up tents on the grounds of the Renaissance’s 20-acre continuing care campus. Representatives will be on hand for well-known specialty lines such as Thirty-One gifts, Silpada and others.

Games and face painting will be provided by Gateway Church, and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office will be on hand with safety fingerprinting for children for interested parents. Refreshments for sale will be provided by Grace Episcopal Church.
