Virtual Voyage’s fashion students were provided the topic “I Love MP”
Indore, September 19, 2014: Mr. James Ferreira, a Pioneer of Indian Fashion Industry took seminar at Virtual Voyage, one of the leading Institute of Design, Media and Management. During this seminars the fashion students of Virtual Voyage had an enjoyable and an practical experience of the fashion world they are been taught with the basic concepts of the fashion while making them workout for ramp show. Through this seminar, fashion students of Virtual Voyage will be capable to organize the complete ramp show in front of the stage as well behind the stage. The students were provided with the topic “I Love MP” and based on that topic they have to set out the designs for the clothes for the ramp show based on various aspects of Madhya Pradesh such as Nature Wonders, Culture, Heritage, Architecture, Food Language etc.Further for designing the clothes the students were been coached by Mr. James Ferreira which are basically for sale not just for hype.
James Ferreira was born on 25th July 1956 in Mumbai .He lives and worked out of the iconic 47-G Bungalow at Khotachiwadi one of the last surviving Heritage of Mumbai. He has been a part of Indian Fashion Textile and Media Business from many years. His father is a hockey Olympian. He completed a course of commercial art at J.J.School of art.
Mr James Ferreira considered a PIONEER IN INDIAN FASHION and has his own brand label. He worked as a designer under the iconic British Designer Zandra Rhodes in 1982. In 1992 continuing with his position as the Creative Head at the Boutiques Bada Saab and First Lady, He established a full-fledged production unit and a studio for his namesake label ‘James Ferreira’. In 2006 he debuted at the Lakme India Fashion week and subsequently in 2011 he collaborated with Veryta Foundation run by Stefano Pilati, design director Yves Saint Laurent and Filippo Binaghi, of Lorma SLR, Como, Italy to showcase a collection at the AW’11 Wills India Fashion Week.
James Ferreira believes in making/designing clothes which people will wear taking into account what the culture and heritage of India has been and what India would like to wear in times ahead.
