Mumbai July 2016: Our very own not so Desi girl Priyanka Chopra, has an ardent admirer in the young and beautiful Mawra Hocane. The actress who is currently seen as Bushra in Main Bushra aired on Zindagi fromMonday — Saturday at 8 pm, made her Bollywood debut early this year and is a fervent fan of our global Indian, PC.  The young actress who has followed Priyanka since she won her Miss World title is very inspired by the Quantico actress’s confidence and like her believes in setting high goals for herself.

Talking about her fondness for Priyanka Chopra, Mawra Hocane says, “My favourite actress in Bollywood I’d say is Priyanka Chopra. When Priyanka Chopra won the title of Miss World, I was 8 years old and I told my mom that I want to grow up to be like her. Growing up, I was always proud of women achievers.”

 

Mawra is inspired by Priyanka Chopra and just like Priyanka, she hopes to balance her career between two countries. Till her next Bollywood release, Mawra’s fans can catch her playing the title role of Bushra in Main Bushra. She plays the role of a daughter of a middle-class father Nasir (Waseem Abbas) that only wants a son. Bushra comes from a home that believes in the supremacy of sons over daughters. Bushra and her sisters are the unwitting victims of this mindset she’s constantly strives to prove her worth to her family. Bushra believes in setting high goals and not stopping till you get there but it is her family that becomes the roadblock to her success.  Despite the prejudices they have against her, Bushra goes out of the way to help the ones she loves, often sacrificing her own life and desires.
