Jojobera Cement Plant Celebrates ‘International Day of Yoga’

 

 

Jamshedpur, June 21, 2016: In December 2014, The United Nations General Assembly declared 21st June as International Day of Yoga. It also marks the Summer Solstice, which is the longest day of the year. This momentous day has been since celebrated with great enthusiasm across India and several parts of world, as well.

 

Jojobera Cement Plant (JCP) observed International Day of Yoga by organising a brief yoga session for all its employees. The session was inaugurated by Manoj Kumar Agrawal, Vice President, JCP; along with Vinay Dubey, Head,HR and V. K. Trivedi, Deputy President, Lafarge India Employees Union in presence of all the site employees.

 

Subhashis Bhadhuri, who has been practicing and teaching yoga, was invited to conduct the session. He started with a short prayer followed by a demonstration of the different aasanaas. All employees who were present were made to practice them as well. He also explained the importance and benefits of practicing Yoga in our daily life.

 

The session was concluded with an invigorating speech by Mr. Agrawal; where he shared his thoughts on the importance of Yoga, “Man is a physical, mental and spiritual being. Yoga helps promote a balanced development of all three”. He also requested everyone to incorporate Yoga for at least 30 minutes every day to reap its benefits for years to follow.
