FHRAI joins hand with four International Hospitality Associations

 

Signs  MOUs for mutual knowledge enrichment and training expertise exchange

 

Mumbai September 17, 2012: The apex hospitality industry body, Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) has signed four Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with its international counterparts, spanning in USA, Europe, Middle East, UK, China and UNWTO fostering a new relationship between the Indian and foreign hoteliers to exchange expertise and  fraternity strategy evolution.

 

The international associations including, the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP), the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA), the International Hotel & Restaurant Association (IH&RA), United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) were present at the recently held 47thAnnual FHRAI Convention at Goa.

 

FHRAI adopted IH&RA‘s  iconic programme, Evolution (Global sustainability management platform) for  its members in India. FHRAI has become the first Association in India adopting this exclusive programme that was adopted by thousands of hoteliers Worldwide.

 

Mr. Kamlesh Barot, President, FHRAI, said, “Indian Hospitality industry is on its growth trajectory and the leaders of this industry are committed to the cause of tourism promotion in this country tapping the huge potential of cultural diversity to offer as a showcase to tourists . IH&RA has also invited FHRAI members to join their Emeraude Hotel program.”

“With these 2 programs, FHRAI will be the FIRST association in Asia to promote active sustainability at their member hospitality establishments,” added Mr. Barot.

 

AAHOA, in another MoU, has invited FHRAI for its 2013 Annual Convention. The AAHOA Annual Convention is one of the largest events in the hospitality industry and is attended by more hotel owners than any other. AAHOA is one of the fastest growing organizations in the hospitality industry and is recognized by many as the voice for the hotel owners in the United States. The vast majority of AAHOA members are Indian Americans, who come from Gujarat, India. Their members own more than 20,000 hotels in the United States, which is more than 40 percent of all  hotel properties in the United States. Their members create and support more than 500,000 jobs.

 

Mr Frank Wolfe, CEO at HFTP  and Mr. R.P. Rama, Global Vice President of HFTP, formed a new acquaintance with FHRAI with the agreement for an ongoing relationship as Associate mutual bodies, including research and  exchange of educational resources.

 

Fourth MOU was signed between FHRAI and AHLEI wherein AHLEI agreed to make available its resources, programs and expertise at a special consideration, on an ongoing basis with a view to upgrading professionalism in the hospitality industry and also help in workforce development for the industry through courses and programs aimed at various levels to meet both pre and post-employment needs.

 

“These MOUs will help in reassessing investment strategies, if necessary, and identifying areas for further attention, and will guide to accelerate the implementation of various progressive and benefit programs,” said Mr Barot.
