Women-Owned Production Company Capitalizes on Rise in Web Series Viewership with Hot New Original Series

PHILADELPHIA, Penn. — Purple Shamrock Media, a women-owned production company, is championing diversity in television and film with the debut of "Crest Fallen," a new web series with three female leads, tackling a wide range of topics including PTSD, LGBT issues and physical and emotional abuse. Both the on screen storyline and the behind-the-scenes journey of the creators and cast illustrates what women are capable of when they band together in pursuit of a common goal.

“Opportunities for talented women are lacking both in front of the camera and behind the scenes, especially in the field of directing,” said Deirdre McCullagh, Purple Shamrock Media co-owner. “We’re dedicated to not only telling the story of every woman, but also capitalizing on the opportunities that rising web viewership presents to create opportunities for and showcase emerging diverse talent.”

"Crest Fallen" stars former Miss Colorado Blair Griffith; and award winning indie actresses Kim Carson and Jacinth Sutphin. It follows the journey of three women living on Crest Lane as their lives intersect with love, illness and fate. The characters are forced to play the cards they are dealt in the pursuit of happiness and love. Even though their lives may be in shambles, it’s their ability to learn on one another that keeps their hope alive.

At the helm of the project are Purple Shamrock Media co-owners McCullagh and Cassia Rainne. The creative duo’s work has been featured by film and web series festivals across the U.S., including the LA WebFest, Piton International Film Fest, Dublin Film & Music Fest, HollyWeb Festival, Houston Comedy Fest, Freedom Shorts, Women in Film Awards and more. On the heels of its debut,"Crest Fallen" has recently been selected for The Online Film Festival.

“We are immensely overwhelmed by the work ethic and dedication of this cast and we would be remiss if we failed to address that,” said Rainne. “Deirdre and I went to great lengths to ensure diverse casting and diverse storytelling. She and I write together and though we have known each other for several years we both tell the same story from different perspectives. All of this serves to create characters and storylines which our audience will relate to.”

According to Rainne and McCullagh, "Crest Fallen" will resonate with “Army Wives,” “Mistresses” and “Devious Maids” viewers. For more information about the web series and to view episodes, visit www.crestfallenseries.com.
