“Carbon Hill Inc”-Ambitious agriculture project aims to set the standard for an entire nation.

The environmental ministries of the Sichuan and Xinjiang provinces and “Carbon Hill Inc” have initiated a three-year project to assist hundreds of rural villages in the adoption of a number of agricultural procedures that aim to significantly decrease carbon emissions, combat desertification, improve local water and soil qualities, and enhance living conditions.

The province of Xinjiang has been deemed a poverty alleviation area by the Chinese government. The region faces serious desertification thanks to sandstorms that occur more than 260 days per year not to mention severe water shortages.

As Sichuan Province leads the nation in terms of rice production, “Carbon Hill Inc” aims to make the region a benchmark for the rest of the country by deploying several techniques which will reduce emissions and improve water and soil quality.

These will include Methane digesters which will be provided to over 2500 rural households. These appliances convert agricultural waste into methane gas that can be utilized to generate electricity and also serve as a household fuel. This provides a renewable energy source that negates the need for fossil fuel.

“Carbon Hill Inc” says that tamarisk reforestation will increase biomass and significantly reduce carbon emissions whilst, simultaneously benefiting water retention and aiding dust control.
