A lady with strong conviction, zeal towards life, kindness and the soul behind laying the foundation of Infosys Sudha Murthy has come a long way in her life. From being the first female computer engineer, an author with many titles to her credit to a social worker she is a one with many talents. At the age where many people retire Sudha Murthy shows no signs of slowing down. Born in a small village of north Karnataka, Sudha Murthy was a brilliant student, earning great accolades in academics. She went on to become the first female computer engineer employed at Telco (now Tata Motors) in Pune. Her husband N. R. Narayan Murthy considers her as the soul of Infosys Foundation, it was her support that helped in setting up the company. A dedicated social worker and humanitarian, it has been her belief that every individual should contribute to the upliftment of society and has made a difference in the lives of many people. One of her biggest achievements includes an initiative to provide all government schools in Karnataka with computer and library facilities. She is also a prolific writer and her books make for a delightful read. Behind her often stem, no-nonsense appearance there lies a talkative and an outgoing personality.
