Best Media Room Award Given to DSI Entertainment Systems

Electronic House Magazine‘s Annual “Best Of” Awards Honors DSI Entertainment Systems for Outstanding Design and Execution of a High-End Media Room.

Los Angeles, May 20, 2010 — DSI Entertainment Systems, an Electronic Systems Contractor specializing in audio video installation, custom home theater systems, media rooms, and home automation has been awarded Gold for ´Best Family / Media Room‘ for 2010 by Electronic House magazine in their annual ´Home of the Year Awards‘ issue for one of their Santa Barbara custom installations.DSI was recognized for this award for designing a high-performance Media Room surround sound system that blends seamlessly with the detailed mahogany paneled interior architecture.
 
Some highlights of the clever custom installation include: ease of operation utilizing a home automation-connected Crestron wireless touchscreen, high-performance speakers and subwoofer hidden behind custom metal grilles, hiding almost all of the room‘s audio/video technology in a remotely-located equipment room, seamless integration of 12 different audio/video sources, and particular attention paid to the room‘s beautiful architectural and interior design. Much coordination with the architect, interior designer, and cabinet maker was necessary to accomplish such a beautifully integrated design. The Crestron “smart home” automation system controls five DirecTV DVR‘s, an AppleTV, a Vantage lighting system, HVAC, whole house audio, security, CCTV, fountains, and the pool & spa; all of which are accessible from the Media Room‘s remote control. High-end touches include a Runco reference quality plasma TV and a Kaleidescape movie and music media server which allows the family convenient access to their media library.
