Balasaheb Darade, a very reputed and successful entrepreneur and nanotechnologist in the US, holds a master’s degree in nanotechnology from the University of Cincinnati. He was born in Parda village, 450 km southeast of Mumbai. He returned to India in 2011 to work for his country. Balasaheb has been inspired by Anna Hazare and feels that India needs a political revolution. In 2005, he was a part of the design team of NASA's Mars Rover Mission. In 2010, he became an Entrepreneur and founded an IT company in the US that had a turnover of crores of rupees in just one year. Post that he left everything in the US and came back to India. Today he is the contesting candidate from Buldhana district, representing 22 villages in Maharashtra to fight corruption and take the country towards a better future.

On returning from America, Balasaheb connected with Arvind Kejriwal in his movement ‘India against Corruption’. The path for change taken by Balasaheb involved rural development, youth empowerment and changing the attitude of people in rural areas by making them more aware about the realities. He also aim to build youth group in villages and work towards providing these villages with better infrastructure and education facilities.

Mr. Balasaheb had contested the Zilla Parishad election a few years back and won 51% of the votes. He launched the Shankar Rural Transformation Project (SRTP) in 20 villages in the Vidarbha region to tackle problems with agriculture, unemployment and the rising farmer suicide rates.

Having taken inspiration from Anna Hazare, Balasaheb plans to revamp the villages under his district on the lines of Anna Hazare’sRalegaon- Siddhi village model that had proved to be a success.
