A consummate professional, he’s also a very nice man and very talented. It’s my pleasure to represent his work through my gallery. The guitar is in excellent condition, nothing to report on her. She is pretty, powerful with a wonderfully musical voice. Peter builds one of the finest American guitars I can easily offer through our gallery. Guitar has arrived, where I put it through a full internal and external inspection. First, she’s gorgeous. Meticulous workmanship, it’s very clear that Peter takes much pride in his work. The guitar, among many great attributes, features a “Torres Tribute” Mother of Pearl Rosette and the Gilbert Tuners, along with being completely French Polished and having sound ports. The sides are solid with a double laminate of Indian Rosewood for additional stiffening being transmitted to the top. There is moderate play wear on the top, nothing structural at all, nail ticks et al. She’s actually quite nice. Photos will help you see what you need. From Peter directly, who was helpful to me in getting the description correct: Distinguishing Characteristics: Headstock is carved and stippled, with the stippled area left unfinished Guitar has a label with the number #116, date, and signature There is a ‘pdo’ stamp on the foot of the neck block, visible through the sound hole The cedar top has a band of darker color approximately the width of the tie block Guitar has a 12-hole tie block The guitar is a beast of a player, with a superb voice. A very special guitar by a gifted luthier. Please read more about Peter Oberg here. __________ Media Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?). My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar. I simply do not have time to engineer much of anything. Thanks. Rich MP3 Audio – 181106-2009 Peter Oberg #116 Cedar EIRW – this is a gorgeous sounding and playing guitar.
