CITES Ineligible 2013 Peter Barthell #175 Spruce CSA Comments: The guitar’s condition is excellent, actually brand new from 2013, where Pete had Doug Stoker finish the Finish work, then set it up. As many might know, Pete has not built for a few years now, but this guitar was apparently staring at him, pretty and all, figuring it should get out there. I’m always happy to see any of Pete’s work, this guitar is no exception. There is nothing of note to mention except for some small isolated nail ticks on the board. The back and sides are excellent with repaired cracks that you cannot feel, looking almost like part of the grain. Very well done all around. Pete has always been unique in that his sides are one piece, bent altogether, with no seams. Very unique and quite cool. Strings changed with Savarez Carbons, she’s doing a bit of singing all of a sudden! Nice. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar.
