Action 3.5mm & 2.9mm CITES Ineligible – certified paperwork is not available 1994 Manuel Velazquez Spruce CSA Comments: Classical Guitars built by Manuel Velazquez are always highly prized, collectible, and most importantly, excellent musical instruments. The Spruce is as tight and straight as you could want in a sound board. The Brazilian is perfect. with the oil varnish finish being absorbed by the rosewood. The oil varnish is most definitely what gives you the Velazquez sound, besides the obvious build by the master. There are minor issues with this guitar. Some smallish honest play wear on the top, in and around the rosette. Small swirls in the back, 2 very fine cracks, expertly glued (did not need cleats, they are that fine), otherwise nothing of any consequence to report. The nice lady who owns the guitar took very good care of her, as she is in very good to excellent condition. I played the guitar this evening after a 6 hour acclimation to my humidified studio area. Gorgeous, deep in the basses, lyrical highs, with an enviable balance reminiscent of the sound that only the old world master luthiers are able to attain, those particular heights of voicing in a classical guitar. She is strikingly clear in her voices, deep in the basses, with the growl of the mids developing as she warms up to being played again. I can go on and on, about the guitar, Manuel, probably an example of some of his best work, but I won’t. I’ve got better things to do, like play her. LOL Awesome in all respects.
