Pretty, full bodied voice, easy to play. Excellent work by the master luthier. The guitar has been very well cared for exhibiting nothing but smallish scratches on the top along with slight nail marks (very few) and nothing structural. The EIRW is quite nice. Beautiful handcrafted classical guitar SN# 62302 made in 2002 by the premier builder German Vazquez Rubio, also sometimes referred to as G.V. Rubio or German Vazquez. Inspired by Andres Segovia’s revered 1937 Hauser I guitar now residing in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the sound of these instruments is warm and focused, possessed of a flexibility and sheen, complexity and elegance, breadth of color and character, power and depth that is distinctly musical, distinctly beautiful. Suffice it to say, this exceptionally talented maker builds from the heart. Concert and recording artist John Holmquist first commissioned Vazquez Rubio to build his Hauser Model a number of years ago and it has since gone on to become Rubio’s best selling guitar. It was with his magnificent Hauser Model that Vazquez Rubio won First Place in the Concurso Nacional de Constructores y Ejecutantes de Guitarras 2000. Vazquez Rubio Hauser model guitars have been the instruments of choice for international competition winners, John Holmquist and Jason Vieaux, both for their five Naxos recordings and in concert. The McClellan/Hanser Duo and Rod Stucky have also performed and recorded on Vazquez Rubio Hauser Model guitars. In short, this is a wonderful concert guitar at a remarkable price. Materials: Old very dark (nearly black) Indian Rosewood sides and back, choice aged European spruce soundboard, Spanish cedar neck, ebony fingerboard, traditional green/black/brown feathered herringbone rosette, flamed maple bindings, custom 12 hole tie block for additional saddle down force, impeccable hand rubbed French polish of shellac finish, David Rodgers precision tuning machines – the finest in the world – with mother of pearl oval buttons were special ordered on this guitar at an additional charge, 650mm string length, Savarez strings, TKL arched hard shell case and case cover. _______ Media Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?). Thanks. Rich MP3 Audio – 171204-gvrubio-hauser-62302 – a Sweet guitar, very Hauser – like in her total affect. Excellent shape as well. A sweet intimate voice is what she is all about. Not overly loud, she has plenty of projection, but the sweet Hauser affect is what you’re looking for in this guitar. Some Weiss in this recording, as well as “Valerie’s Air” by RF Sayage and my normal discussion. https://www.savageclassical.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/171204-gvrubio-hauser-62302.mp3 My Solo Book of sheet music is available here if you’re interested. https://www.savageclassical.com/product/richard-f-sayage-solo-guitar-works-volume-1/ Video A video is being produced for this guitar.
