Action 4.1mm to 3.25mm at low E and high E 12th fret unfretted CITES Not required, read link to the left 2020 Silvia Zanchi Spruce Santos RW Comments I was fortunate enough to meet with one of the most talented luthiers from Italy, a few years ago in Rome at the Roma Expo, a wonderful experience for me personally.  I have found that luthier relationships take a long while to develop, where she has trusted me with her latest work.  I am honored.  She wrote to me after the cancellation of the 2020 Roma Expo Guitar Festival in March of this year.  She presented me with a guitar that I had to take a closer look at, using Santos Rosewood.  Santos Rosewood is also known as Pau Ferro or Brazilwood – differentiating it from Brazilian Rosewood.  It is not of the Dalbergia species, though similar in properties, though why indicate RW in the name is beyond me.  It is actually of the Machaerium species.  In many ways, it is thought to be superior to Brazilian, in terms of its percussiveness, tap tones, with tight deep lows, growling mids and a singing high response. The purfling, design, woods, guitar all present beautifully.  Nice.  I’m bringing the guitar to the US after a few discussions.  I cannot wait to get my hands on it. She has arrived and I am so pleased with the guitar, I wrote to Silvia immediately.  The guitar is clear, vibrant, almost sensual in her Italian character.  The woods are excellent, the Spruce almost 3D translucent in her affect, while the Santos Rosewood is such an incredible choice, for character and looks.  Simply Superb! We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible.
