Simply but elegantly designed, this guitar is constructed with the best, especially selected tonewoods hand picked by the Maestro Felipe Conde using the original design and molds used by Esteso nearly a century ago. This guitar is characterized by its ‘old’ sound, incredible lightness and strikingly elegant simplicity. It has been conceived for collectors and professionals with an appreciation of things well made and the history of Spanish guitar construction. “This particular guitar is a very special re-make of a mythical Domingo Esteso guitar (Felipe Conde’s great uncle and the person who established the Esteso-Conde guitar building tradition in 1915) played at the time by the likes of Agustín Barrios-Mangoré, Regino Sainz de la Maza or Alirio Diaz. It is rosewood back and sides guitar, with a German spruce top, ebony fret board and Honduran cedar neck. The guitar is finished in the French polish technique. It is an exact replica of the celebrated classical model that was built by Esteso for his most talented clients.  The Fusteros have the word Conde printed on the low E machine. The guitar is light to hold at 3lbs and 2oz, while being airy, bright, percussive, clearly a Flamenco Negra. The guitar is set up low and percussive, giving your the ability to play all flamenco repertoire on the guitar.  She has a big beautiful sound. Good choice as the guitar is super responsive, quick, with a beautiful round voice. The price includes a Black HSC Short History The Conde dynasty was founded by Domingo Esteso (1882-1937), who established his own shop in 1915 after building guitars in the esteemed Manuel Ramirez workshop. After his death in 1937, his widow and nephews, Faustino and Mariano Conde, have carried on the tradition. After Domingo Esteso’s widow passed away in 1959, Faustino and Mariano continued building until the late 80s. The tradition is still carried on by Esteso’s great-nephews – Mariano, Jr. and Felipe Conde – in the workshop at Felipe, V, in Madrid, continuing again with Maria and Felipe Crespi Conde. ___________ Media Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?).  My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar.  I simply do not have time to engineer much of anything.  Thanks. Rich MP3 Audio – 201101-2007 Conde Hermanos Re-Edicion 40 Spruce EIRW – sweet guitar, clarity and voice, percussive and fast.  Clearly a Negra Flamenco – not being a flamenco player, I do Prelude #15 in C Major and one of my sketches in E Minor. https://www.savageclassical.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/201101-2007-Conde-Hermanos-Re-Edicion-40-Spruce-EIRW.mp3 My Solo Book of sheet music is available here if you’re interested. https://savageclassical.com/product/richard-f-sayage-solo-guitar-works-volume-1/ ___________ Shipping: Premium HSC is included in your purchase price.
