He and I get along very well, seeing things in a similar vein, as I do with most luthiers. He is an artist and a poet, a man of softer sensibilities, a man of pride who can also be very humble. He has been blessed with the ability to transcend the art and create a very musical instrument. I had the pleasure of playing this guitar this very morning after a small debacle with DHL and Customs/CITES issues. No need for any drama, on their part, I made myself clear. Do not handle the guitar and to my surprise, they did not touch the instrument. Nicely done! The guitar is first, very handsome. A work of art, using only the finest materials, from the headstock, bindings, rosette, top and back/side wood, machines, etc. Only exceeded by her voice, power and push from the soundhole. The G string has oomph!? Blooming basses with crystal trebles, balance in her voice, emotional sensitivity bordering on the sensual, shaking my head, she is simply extraordinary. Finely tuned, perfectly set up, the guitar is a true representation of the man’s focus on being musical as only the great master of France can produce. I’m waxing a touch poetic, but even my assistant, Ryan, was shaking his head, looking at me and the guitar as if it were an alien creature in my hands. Simply, Superb!
