Powerful and lyrical, excellent work all around. I must say it immediately, that this guitar is only available to clientele in the Domestic USA. It will NOT be shipped Internationally, as the paperwork for the guitar is unattainable. CITES cannot be certified for this guitar. Dake’s own thoughts on his 45th Anniversary Guitars… “Traphagen Series 45 Guitars Series 45 guitars are Dake’s batch of four guitars celebrating 45 years of stringed instrument making. These guitars were completed in 2015. The woods on these guitars are full of unique character and sets that I have been collecting for several decades. Spruce tops with bear claw patterns or amazing amounts of cross silk, cedar tops with rippling flame patterns. Brazilian rosewood with spider web grain or other very rare patterns and colors. All the woods have exceptional tonal qualities. The tuners are either Rodgers or Graf engraved with the traditional Esteso design. Each one of these guitars will be unique and one of a kind, to be treasured for many years to come.” Playing this guitar, I was immediately taken with her voice, nuanced and subtle, musical expression and overall projection. Clearly, she is built with the finest materials and Dake’s incredible sense of workmanship, surpassed by few if any. The Rodgers engraved machines compliment a work of art by the master luthier. The Hoffee Case is a touch large for her, but protects the guitar magnificently. I gave the guitar a thorough overview and inspection, finding honest play wear on the top, little nail marks, etc, that require a hard look to find. This should not surprise anyone, as this guitar demands to be played. I find her easy to play, the 645mm scale lends an immediate sense of accessibility, while the string spacing does not hamper your ability to play. Her setup is excellent, but the voice! My goodness, this is a fine fine guitar! Hats off to Dake, he truly is a master of his field.
