The guitar is very active, bold, forceful and clear in all registers. She’s a little darker sounding, fat and round, buttery sounding with tremendous force and voice. Her setup and play are excellent as well. The Cocobolo was very difficult to photograph, simply because of her depth and darkness. I artificially highlighted some areas using photo software. I never do this, so you’re aware. I always photograph as is, maybe increase exposure, without washing her out. The Cocobolo is spectacular. I wish I could show it in depth, but bluntly, the photos would be washed out. Inspections shows honest play wear in and around the rosette, 2 small dings in the lower bout. Back and sides, neck joint, etc are in excellent condition. There is a stable separation in the lower bout of the top, behind the bridge. I am stabilizing it further, cleats and gluing, neatly done. Saying that it’s in “Good” Condition is an underestimation. She’s better than that, but better safe than sorry. ____________ Media Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?). My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar.
