Historically special and certainly investment grade. She is in excellent condition, with play and voice in abundance. She can be stored or she could be played. I would prefer the latter. Photos show everything in detail. Light play wear on the top, some wear of the finish in the upper bout of the back in expected places. Bob (who I write about below) decided correctly to leave it all original. He is the 2nd owner, as the guitar’s provenance originates in France, the home of Daniel. Her setup is superb. Strung with Savarez CRJ-500 strings, she might benefit from a heavier EJ46. Bob Desmond of Orlando, Florida owned this guitar, as well as the 1971 Hauser on this site, where he studied them thoroughly, made plans, drawings, measurements, thicknesses, attempting to discover the secrets of what made them tick. Mind you, he was also a student of Manuel Velazquez for over 17 years. Without a doubt, Bob is one of the great American builders, if not top of his class. The guitar is here in my gallery. I have played her, photographed and inspected her thoroughly. The price is usually listed for clarity and transparency. I am not a big fan of “Please Inquire”, thus not wasting your time, but in this case and any instrument priced over $25K, I am listing as “Inquire”. The guitar’s price is non-negotiable. There will be NO trades. All transactions will happen through bank wire. All buyer’s will be vetted by me. It will be shipped 1 Day Express via the USPS or UPS or FedEx. It can also be personally delivered (at cost of transportation, flight, charges, driving time, etc) or you are free to schedule an appointment with me at the gallery to inspect and pick up the guitar personally. Thank you kindly in advance for your understanding and consideration. __________ Media Listening with high quality headphones or audio equipment is highly recommended including EQ manipulation, if possible. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. I speak in the recordings, my thoughts about the guitar (and possibly other things?). My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar. I simply do not have time to engineer much of anything. Thanks. Rich MP3 Audio – 190918-Federica-1978 Daniel Friederich #476 Cedar EIRW-Mertz – Capriccio from Bardenklaenge – Federica Canta performing a short beautiful piece by Mertz – “ Capriccio from Bardenklaenge“ —————— MP3 Audio – 190618-1978 Daniel Friederich #476 Cedar EIRW – the guitar speaks for itself. She is full bodied and resonant, plays effortlessly. It is superb. I play a new piece that I’ve written recently and mostly only that. The piece is just about in my hands, though it’s still a bit jerky, but it’s right there. https://www.savageclassical.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/190618-1978-Daniel-Friederich-476-Cedar-EIRW.mp3 My Solo Book of sheet music is available here if you’re interested. https://savageclassical.com/product/richard-f-sayage-solo-guitar-works-volume-1/ ___________ Video Colin Fullerton plays Toru Takemitsu – “In The Woods – Wainscot Pond” using our 1978 Daniel Friederich #476 Cedar EIRW classical guitar. __________ Shipping Premium Single Arch Top or Double Arch HSC is included in your purchase price.
