The Youth Entrepreneurship Development Foundation announces the launch of a crowdfunding campaign to benefit African American students and their families.
Ohio - A noteworthy crowdfunding opportunity has just been launched that will greatly benefit African-American youths and their families. The Youth Entrepreneurship Development Foundation of Dayton, Ohio is seeking funding for its free after school program that teaches entrepreneurship and life skills for future success. The YEDF created the fundraising campaign on GoFundMe.com as a way to help at-risk youth develop the skills necessary to become financially and personally successful.
YEDF's innovative after school program puts strong emphasis on character development, entrepreneurship, health care and STEM studies. During the 48 week training program, teachers and mentors provide guidance and motivation for students to stay in school, stay out of trouble and visit local businesses and institutions, which would otherwise be improbable. Collaborators in the program include NASA, The Tiger Woods Learning Center, The Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurship Leadership, as well as parents, volunteers and the business community.
The money raised by YEDF on GoFundMe.com will directly benefit young African American students. The mission of YEDF is to assist at-risk students in managing their time, talent and money and finding success within the economic community. According to a spokesperson for the fundraising campaign, "Too many African American youth are academically far behind other ethnic groups." The goal is to improve the participants' lifelong potential for meaningful employment and financial stability.
