About NuYork:
NuYork is Brooklyn-born, Queens-raised,  southern-certified radio personality who knows how to win the hearts, minds and ears of a loyal audience. Using instinctive drive, determination, authenticity and passion for music, not to mention natural beauty, the award-winning radio talent has earned the love and respect of listeners in multiple radio markets, and is a rising radio star true to the community that she represents.

Nuyork moved with her family to Huntsville, Alabama, at the age of 15. She learned how to use and hone her voice as a member of her middle school, high school choir and church choirs. Her drive led her to win a student internship at WEUP-FM, a 100,000-watt urban heritage station in Huntsville, AL. She continued her learning and volunteering efforts while earning a degree from Alabama A&M University, and was offered her first on-air shift at Adult Contemporary station WHRP-FM.

Shortly after graduating, she landed a position as a morning show co-host for Cox Radio’s “BuckWilde Morning show” at 95.7 JAMZ in Birmingham. She stayed with the station through multiple staff changes, continuing as co-host for two later editions of the morning show, to include working alongside Birmingham’s own, comedian Roy Wood Jr. When Summit Media purchased 95.7 and eight other Cox stations in 2013, she was retained as host of a new program, “Midday Access with Nuyork,” as well as during midday shifts at CHR WHZT-FM, Hot 98.1, in Greenville, South Carolina. She is known for dishing daily entertainment news and gossip on feature segments, “The Scoop” and “NY Minute”.

In addition to her radio duties, NuYork considers community outreach a personal priority. She regularly speaks at schools and colleges about the importance of education, and serves as a mentor through an internship program that she has created. She is also building an organization called G.L.O.W. (Girls Living On Willpower), whose goal is to support young women by encouraging positive choices in appearance, morality, and academic achievement. She is inspired and motivated by youth--particularly adopted adolescents, for whom she admits to having a soft spot--and hopes to partner with other organizations to assist at-risk children transitioning between homes and into adulthood. Through social media, volunteerism and her website, IamNuYork.com(http://iamnuyork.com/), she stays engaged with the community.

Paying homage to her New York hometown, and “paying it forward” as a positive influence to listeners young and old, NuYork is a tremendous radio professional with natural talent, never-ending enthusiasm and national appeal.
