Watkins Architect, a leading Fleetwood architectural firm with clients throughout Pennsylvania and the rest of the country, has published a portfolio of their work with educational building design. The educational building portfolio, available in its entirety on their website, includes detailed descriptions and multiple images of different design projects for a variety of clients. Allowing clients and prospective clients access to their portfolios shows the level of quality and care that goes into each of Watkins Architect’s projects.

In addition to a portfolio of their educational building design projects, the website for Watkins Architect also features specific portfolios of their architectural work for automotive dealerships, commercial/corporate buildings, industrial buildings, religious buildings, restaurants and more.

The educational building portfolio begins with a 30,000 square-foot apartment building designed by Watkins for Penn State Schuylkill. The $4 million residence hall, which opened in August 2010, included 12 apartment units with 72 total beds, a student lounge, laundry facilities, public restrooms and a student life office. Watkins Architect also ensured that the project was LEED silver certified, meaning that it met certain environmental and sustainability standards.

Watkins’ educational building portfolio goes on to include pictures and descriptions of buildings the firm designed for Bucks County Community College, Alvernia University, the Berks County Intermediate Unit Education Centre and the Growing Hearts Early Childhood Education Center, among others. For Bucks County Community College, Watkins designed a three-story addition to the college’s Hicks Art Building and also provided master planning and conceptual design services for upgrades to their campus entrances. The upgrades to the campus’s vehicular entrance and Gateway Center area included designs of signage, pedestrian walkways, lighting, a sculpture garden, water features and an amphitheater.
