Visitors get an opportunity to experience leading Taiwan products at the EMMA EXPO 2013, Chennai!

 

Chennai, September 10, 2013: The esteemed 2013 EMMA Expo was organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade, MOEA, and implemented by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) at Chennai Trade Centre. There were 4 theme pavilions including the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion, the Taiwantrade Pavilion, the Taiwan Green Classics Awards Pavilion and the Top Taipei Pavilion. It was inaugurated by none other than the dazzling Malaika Arora Khan, noted Bollywood Actor & Taiwan Excellence Endorser, along with India & Taiwan VIPS’ including Mr. Woody Tyzz-Jiun Duh, Vice Minister, Economic Affairs, Taiwan, Mr. San Gee, Vice Chairman, Taipei World Trade Center Co., Ltd; Mr. P Murali, Former Secretary to President of India; and Mr. Chung- Kwang Tien, Representative, Taipei Economic and Cultural Center, etc.

Mr. Woody Tyzz-Jiun Duh, Vice Minister, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan said, “EMMA EXPO INDIA has become an important platform for trade and commercial exchange between Taiwan and India. Total bilateral trade between Taiwan and India from for the first half of this year has reached US$3.39 billion, a 5.1% growth from the same period last year. Taiwan's export to India amounted to US$1.7745 billion, or a growth of 4.6%, and India's export to Taiwan amounted to US$1.6223 billion, or a growth of 5.8%. According to data released by India's Department of Statistics at the end of May this year, economic growth for the 2012—2013 fiscal year is projected to 5%. Despite the lowest economic growth in India for the past decade, trade between Taiwan and India has continued to grow.”

The EMMA Expo India 2013 witnessed a large turnout of 3000 professional buyers this year. The 59 associate brand companies of leading Taiwanese brands from the Machinery Industry, ICT industry, Home appliances industry and Sports & Leisure industry who have pledged partnership to the Taiwan Excellence Campaign 2013, also participated at the 2013 EMMA EXPO.
