Veterinary health camp organized by Mahan Coal Ltd. receives huge and enthusiastic response from villagers
Singrauli: Veterinary health camp, organized by Mahan Coal Ltd. at Amiliya and Budher villages on 18th July received huge and enthusiastic response from the villagers. The health camps were organized to treat diseased animal, to treat the sterile animals and spread awareness among the villagers on the common diseases of the domestic animals. This was first time such camps were organized by Mahan Coal Ltd. as part of its CSR programme under the guidance of the District Animal Husbandry Department, Singrauli. This was the first time any such camp was organized in the entire area.
Villagers of Ameliya, Budher and Suggo brought their cattle, goats and oxen to the veterinary camps. Apart from providing consultation, treatment of diseased animals, vaccination, insemination and de-worming have been done. A team of nine veterinary staff, including three doctors Dr. D. S. Chauhaan (Civil Surgeon, District Veterinary Hospital, Singrauli), Dr Sumant Verma (VAS, Majhauli) and Dr Narendra Singh (VAS, Bargawan) were present. The team treated and vaccinated more than 1000 domestic animals at the four different camps, three in Ameliya and one in Budher. Besides this, underproductive animals have also been treated at the camp.
Thanking Mahan Coal Ltd, Sarpanch of Amiliya Gram Panchayat Shri Santosh Singh said “ The free health camps are really helpful for us to treat our domestic animals. The animals have been treated free of cost. We came to know the symptoms of the common diseases of the animals.”
“This is the first time my cow received vaccination. I also got medicines for free. This will help prevent diseases and keep my cow healthy. We are happy to participate in such veterinary health camp organized by Mahan Coal Ltd.," said SriRudraPratap Shah, a resident of Ameliya village.
Commenting on the importance of the veterinary health camp, Mr. Ramakant Tiwari, CEO, Mahan Coal Ltd said, “Domestic animals help in the livelihood of the villagers in the semi-arid regions. Dr. D. S. Chauhaan, Civil Surgeon, District Veterinary Hospital, Singrauli, said, “We are happy to be a part of the health camp. The diseases of the animals require attention. We are hopeful that villagers have benefited from this camp. We will be happy to extend our support to Mahan Coal and other corporates for such social initiatives.”
