Tokyo, Japan; 06, October 2014: On the verge of a major break out as “The Next Big Thing in Hollywood,” professional actor, Kenny Scott is well on his way to becoming a major motion picture star. Already seen as a popular celebrity in Japan, Scott has worked successfully as both an actor and a model.
“I did not set out to be an actor, but I fell into it after graduating from Union College,” said Scott.
While earning a degree in American History with a minor in Studio Arts, Scott participated in a term abroad program for a semester in Queensland, Australia. There he found his way to Japan to teach English. “I had intended to stay for a year in Japan, learn a bit of the language and culture, then return to New York. I had no idea what was in store,” said Scott. His career as a successful model started when a fellow student in his Japanese language class thought Scott looked the part of a model. By luck, some of the modeling agencies in Tokyo were interested in featuring ads with Scott’s rugged, but sophisticated Western looks.
Paying heed to his classmate’s advice, Scott pursued this line of work, and as fate would have it, landed his very first acting role for a documentary about the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo. From that point on, there was no looking back. Since that first stint with acting, Kenny Scott has been featured in fashion shows, print advertisements, Japanese TV dramas and movies. Scott has also acted in music videos and appeared in video games. He’s gained traction in the United States as well, and tops IMDb’s List as: The Best Actor to Play James Bond in 2015. No doubt, agents and managers in Hollywood will be approaching Scott with offers of representation as his career refocuses on the United States.
Scott’s career has taken him across the world, and this is something that he loves. Meanwhile, Scott continues to live in Tokyo, plying his art in media and learning Japanese. He remains active in commercials, modeling and other on-camera projects.
