TLC PRESENTS ITS FIRST TATTOO COMPETITION SERIES

New Delhi, March, 2013: TLC, India’s favourite lifestyle channel brings its first non-scripted reality series on tattoo art INK MASTER. Hosted by music legend and tattoo aficionado Dave Navarro and judged by renowned tattoo artists Chris Nunez and Oliver Peck, INK MASTER features top 10 tattoo artists of America. Watch the artists battle it out for a $100,000 cash prize and the title of 'Ink Master,' every Saturday at 8 pm on TLC.

 

INK MASTER begins with a Flash Challenge, a simple task of tattooing but has contestants utilize skills related to tattooing in an unusual way. The winner of the Flash Challenge gets to pick which human canvas they would like to tattoo during the elimination tattoo, while other contestants are assigned a canvas by random draw. The contestants are then given a chance to meet with their canvas before tattooing them the next day when they will be given a set amount of time to do the tattoo. A judging panel then commences where the best tattoos of the week are recognized, the weak tattoos are pointed out and one contestant is eliminated from the competition.

Living Canvasses are permanently marked in a series of extreme challenges that push the contestants to their limit, in this high-stakes elimination competition in INK MASTER.

 

The competing rounds are based on stringent criteria such as creation of a skull tattoo, technical precision, colour tattoo, shading, transforming a flat tattoo into a unique, three dimensional design amongst many others. The unique challenges will test the artists' technical skills and on-the-spot creativity where they must create and execute an original tattoo on command.
