I recently watch the movie The Perfect Guy and as we all know "perfect" doesn't really exist and this movie certainly proves that. What I liked most about this movie is for the first time in a long time the female lead has high self-esteem, self-confidence and is a strong feminine woman. Yes, women can be strong and feminine. When her man didn't want the same things she wanted, she decided not to live in silent misery or to spend time arguing her point of view instead she chose the better option which was to walk away. Then when The Perfect Guy appeared with his mysterious swagger, fierce eyes, and smooth tongue, she thought maybe I've found my Mr. Right.  But when his fierce eyes turned dangerous and his hands became deadly, she immediately disengaged. Her strong sense of self-worth caused her to fight for her life no matter what she had to do.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of women who do not posses that level of strength, courage and self-esteem to walk away from a relationship or situation that is not in their best interest. There is something wrong with societies/families that trained their girls that it's okay to be miserable as long as you have a man. It's this kind of underline societal norm that makes it difficult for girls and women to say "no" the way you are acting or the way you are treating me is not acceptable. Or maybe some believe that is just the way life is but that is far from the real truth. So many women spend their precious lives miserable with unfilled dreams, with men that don't love or respect them and in some case even living with abuse.

In The Perfect Guy, Sanaa Lathan's character is a great model to emulate, she has great parents and they were the foundation of her personal courage and professional success. For women whose childhoods were less than stellar can rise above the broken glass, restore the mirror of hope and reinvent themselves but only if they can see pass their reflections to what they could be rather than what they currently are.

Good men appreciate a woman with high standards for herself and others so women should not be afraid to stand up for themselves because they fear being alone. I highly recommend this movie for women!
