Tata Group and NEN host the Tata First Dot 2012 Workshop in Jaipur


  • Workshops conducted in Jaipur & Coimbatore on November 2, 2012 as part of the 2nd edition of Tata First Dot powered by NEN - a unique recognition and mentoring platform for student start-ups today
  • Regional workshops are being conducted across 15 cities pan-India between October 6 and November 11, 2012 having already travelled Mumbai, Indore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Pune

 

Jaipur, November 7, 2012: Tata First Dot 2012 powered by NEN - India's definitive platform for student entrepreneurship, supporting and accelerating high-potential entrepreneurship across the country, conducted the Jaipur workshop on November 2, 2012 at the Arya Institute of Engineering & Technology. These workshops are designed to help student entrepreneurs and those aspiring to get started, understand business models, plans and stakeholder expectations more effectively.

The workshop saw participation from 57 students across 9 institutes, some of who were also invited to participate in the competition for the title ‘Best Student Startup’. Amongst the esteemed institutions were Global Institute of Technology, Arya Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jaipuria Institute of Management (Jaipur) and the International College for Girls (Jaipur). The workshop was conducted by Prof. Raj Shankar from NEN. Students also enjoyed the opportunity to interact with Guest Speaker Mr. Sanjay Chatterjee, Circle Head - Customer Care at Tata Docomo.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Chatterjee said, “Entrepreneurs are the most important link between innovators & investors which fosters new jobs & economic growth and it is very heartening to experience that Tata First Dot & NEN are focused in establishing such bright individuals through a strong eco-system and with a firm sense of TATA Values."

A simultaneous workshop for the Tata First Dot 2012 was also conducted in Coimbatore on November 2, 2012. Having already visited the cities of Mumbai, Indore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Pune, Delhi, Kolkata and Bhubaneswar, the workshops have received an enthusiastic response. Concluding workshops will be held in Trivandrum and Lucknow.

Five winners for best student start-ups will be selected by an eminent panel of business leaders, investors and entrepreneurs. Contestants will also participate in the online voting-based student competition, the Tata First Dot ‘People’s Choice’ Competition. All validated start-ups will have information posted on the website www.tatafirstdot.com and everyone will be invited to vote for their favourite start-up. The five contestants with the maximum validated votes will be declared ‘People’s Choice’ winners.

Winners of the competitions will be felicitated during the 2-day Tata First Dot Conference to be held in Chennai on 20th & 21st January.
