Social media leads to changes in the storyline of Ek Hasina Thi
~ Makers change the actual plot after strong feedback from fans ~
STAR Plus’ Ek Hasina Thi, a show that has transgressed the norms of daily drama is up for another twist. While people not just in India, but also across the world are appreciating the strong storyline and the moving performances, makers are having a hard time keeping up with the expectations of the many admirers. Sanjeeda Sheikh who plays the protagonist Durga and Vatsal Sheth who is playing the character of Shaurya, have become household names with this series. In the current plot, Durga is all set to marry Shaurya. Seeing that people have bombed social media platforms with requests contrary to what the show portrays, the makers have decided to move away and try a different story line.

Confirming this, lead actress Sanjeeda said, “People are anticipating Durga to get married to Shaurya but my fans are coming forward on various social media platforms and requesting me to not marry Shaurya and instead marry the character of Dev. They think it’s not fair on my part to marry my sister’s rapist as they look at Durga as a woman who doesn’t comply to the wrongs done to her and her family; and someone who has the courage to fight till the end".

Ek Hasina Thi is not a revenge story but a story of the female protagonist, Durga, seeking justice for a crime committed in the past. Her methods of claiming justice are unconventional as she steps out of the shackles of traditionalism and utilises her Mind to conquer Might! Just like Durga, the writers of the show are also experimenting with the story line to make it more gripping for the audience.

Will Durga marry Shaurya or will she marry the good guy Dev? This is something that only the writers can answer, till then the viewers are in for some more twists and turns as Durga and Sakshi both play their games to attain victory.

Tune in to Ek Hasina Thi, every Monday to Saturday, 8 p.m. only on Star Plus
