Shri Vishnu Dashaavatar Temple in Jalore is the new Pilgrimage for Devotees
Jalore, Rajasthan — June23, 2014 —The new Shri Vishnu Dashaavatar Temple in Jalore, Rajasthan, which was built to house ancient idols, was visited by lakhs of devotees across the five-day celebrations for the grand inauguration. The temple, many believe, is set to become a dhamin the near future, especially as it was blessed by some of the senior-most priests from across the country.
The five day event included elaborate aartis, havans, and chanting of mantras in presence of priests, pilgrims, and the local villagers. According to mythology, Bhagavan Vishnu is considered one of the Supreme Gods in Hindu tradition. Smarta followers of AdiShankara, among others, venerate Vishnu as one of the five primary forms of God, and his supreme status is declared in the Hindu sacred texts like Yajurveda, the Rigveda and the Bhagavad Gita.
The chief priest of the temple opened the portals of the shrine to the public amid vedic chanting and rituals throughout the Mahotsav. Lakhs of devotees from across the country gathered to witness the divine intervention. Expressing happiness over the first day turnout, His Royal Highness Maharaja DarbarSaheb of Sirohi, also the Chairperson of the Mahotsav said “The number of devotees at the Mahotsav was heart-warming and a manifestation of the good blessings of Lord Vishnu on the temple and his devotees. The doors of the Shri Vishnu BhagwanDasavatar temple are now open to the public and I am hoping a visit to this temple becomes a milestone in people’s spiritual journey”.
HRH Maharaja DarbarSaheb of Sirohi also applauded the efforts and determination of Mr. Deepak Shah, Managing Director, Sumer Group, for building a home for the ancient idols, and creating a landmark in Nimboda Village, in Jalore district.
While wrapping up the five-day celebrations, Deepak Shah, Managing Director, Sumer Group, said, “It is a matter of rare and extreme honour and privilege to be chosen by Lord Vishnu to bring this temple to the people of the Hindu faith. The chance finding of the ancient idols, followed by unwavering support from HRH Maharaja DarbarSaheb of Sirohi, the leading spiritual minds in the country, and most importantly the local community in Bhinmal, has been very overwhelming. I believe this temple will bring happiness and good fortune to all.”
With blessings of the royal family, fellow believers and supporters, the shrine successfully reinstated the ancient idols of Lord Shri Vishnu, Shri Ganesha, Shri Garudji, and Shri Raja Raniji at the temple.
