Rising Hip Hop Star Prepares to Release New Music after Video for First Single Goes Viral with over One Million Views

HOUSTON, Texas — Robert Primes PT, Houston’s rising hip hop star, announced today that he will release his first mixtape, “This Was Never My Dream” on July 9. The announcement comes on the heels of the success of his first single, “I Got a Problem.” The single has amassed over 40,000 plays on SoundCloud and the video, which debuted on World Star Hip Hop, garnered over 1.2 million views in less than 24 hours.

“I Got a Problem” is currently available on iTunes. Music industry influencers have already labeled PT’s sound as “global,” “addictive” and “Fire!”

PT first rose to fame locally as a football star at Prairie View A&M and Navarro Jr. College, where he won a national championship. In 2015, he left football behind to fully commit to pursuing a career as a singer-songwriter. Since the release of his first single, he’s opened for major hip hop acts such as Lil Boosie and Kevin Gates, and performed on the main stage of The Go-DJ Hip Hop Awards where he earned a nomination for “Best New Song of the Year.” PT will host a private listening party for industry influencers prior to the launch of his mixtape.

“I’m in the studio, putting in the work, I’m just determined to make it to the top,” said PT. “I know fans are going to love the new mixtape. My music is diverse and my style is confident and articulate. I’m determined to put Houston back on the music map.”
