Orlando, FL – April 8, 2015 — Technology has significantly helped the medical community in providing a wide variety of treatments to patients suffering from medical conditions. However, it seems that conditions such as arthritis don’t need as much of the medical sophistication that technology has to offer.

Research revealed that 6,000 steps every day can help prevent activity limitations. This is something that many arthritis sufferers would be delighted about, since this remedy is considered to be safe, effective and cost-free. They will also be able to reduce the risk for various physical limitations with simple activities such as walking.

The Arthritis Care & Research journal has published a new study that found that walking 6,000 steps per day can help reduce the risk for functional limitations in individuals suffering from knee osteoarthritis. Functional limitations refer to various kinds of mobility problems that negatively affect the everyday life of patients, such as climbing the stairs, walking down the street or getting out of bed.

“Exercise is widely used for the benefits it offers, especially among individuals who suffer from osteoarthritis. In particular, walking is considered the best form of exercise,” said VitaBreeze Supplements spokesperson, Michelle O’Sullivan.

The benefits believed to be offered by exercise include reduction in pain, increased flexibility and strengthening of the joint muscles. It is also suggested to improve blood flow around the joints and encourage nutrients to circulate into the knee cartilage.

Unfortunately, there are many arthritis sufferers who don’t walk enough. A report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has stated that two-thirds of  adults in the United States have reported that they practice walking as a form of exercise for only 90 minutes per week.

Daniel K. White is Boston University’s College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences assistant professor and a physical therapist. White believes that exactly how many steps are needed can be unclear. Some believe that 10,000 steps per day is required, but for individuals with painful knee osteoarthritis, this could be quite laborious and painful.

A healthy diet and regular exercise are among the most popular remedies for a wide variety of conditions. Many arthritis patients, who often find themselves suffering from pain so severe they can barely walk, do not bother to exercise. There are also patients who succumb to depression, because they are unable to do their daily routines or work.

There are a few natural remedies that are believed to be effective in reducing pain and improving mobility among arthritis patients. One of the most popular natural alternatives is a curcumin supplement (http://www.amazon.com/Turmeric-Curcumin-Complex-BioPerine-Bio-availability/dp/B00JA4TLTI/).
