The steep rise in the number of atrocity cases in Maharashtra is become life-threatening for Dalits, are indeed becoming a commonplace. Khairlanji, Soonai & Kharda were the 3 most awful dalit atrocities in the last few years. These growing instances of atrocities against Dalits have come to light in recent months. Apart from slaughters many Dalits are also facing incidents of ostracization to the detriment of their livelihoods, physical assault and humiliation on an almost every day basis from the dominant castes. Reporter Prachee Kulkarni will voice out the victims of these atrocities who are still waiting for the Justice, enforced by law in Khairlanji Te Kharda on Reportaaz this Sunday 20th July at 11.30am & 8.30pm, Only on IBN-Lokmat.

In April 2014 the devious act of brutality of a 17 year old dalit youth called Nitin Aage in Kharda took place in village of Ahmednagar district, Kharda, bordering the Marathwada region. The sheer cruelty act perpetrated shocked Maharashtra and rekindled the tragic memories of the dalit destructions in Khairlanji and Sonai a few years ago. These victims are still left with injustice by law being a dreadful atrocity.

There is a need of the hour now which will help building a strong unity of all sections/castes/community of the people, to avoid such caste atrocities and also atrocities on women that are on the rise in Maharashtra as also elsewhere in the country, but also to ensure that such horrifying incidents are prevented from occurring in the future.

The law should be giving quick decisions & taking immediate actions to these unfair behaviours against dalit community in the country. Reportaaz will explore the issues of such brutal acts against dalit which goes beyond Khairlanji, Soonai & Kharda. These cases are still myriad in various regions of our nation, crying for justice & fair treatment.

Tune into IBN-Lokmat to know the reality behind atrocities in Khairlanji Te Kharda & why the victims are still left with injustice against such brutality through Reporter Prachee Kulkarni in Reportaaz this Sunday 20th July 2014 at 11.30am and 8:30 pm.
