It is true that evil persons using black magic & spreading superstition to cause harm to other should not exist in society. Hence, for the eradication of human sacrifice and other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic, Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti was founded by the renowned rationalist & anti-superstition activist Dr. Narendra Dabholkar in the year 1989.This voluntary organisation has now completed 25 years of spreading rationalism. To know the more about MANS & their contribution towards the society tune into Reportaaz on Sunday 10th Aug 2014 @ 11.30 am & 8.30 pm only on IBN-Lokmat.

Dabholkar had drafted the Anti-Superstition and Black Magic Bill over a decade ago, but it repeatedly failed to get through the State Legislature. He was instrumental in pushing the state government to frame an anti-superstition law which was finally approved and passed as an ordinance four days after his assassination. This decision of government was criticised all across the country. The new law seeks to eradicate black magic, blind faith, superstitious beliefs, rituals and sacrifices to drive out evil spirits or ensure a male progeny - perpetrated by self-styled god men and witchcraft and wizardry practitioners.

In today’s world everyone is aware of the need to be able to think with an open mind and to lead a rational life. Taking a step towards this need Dr. Dabholkar sacrificed his life fighting against all kinds of superstitions and worked in a constructive way to create scientific temper within the society. He confronted dubious tantriks, babas and buas - people who claimed to have supernatural powers and preyed on gullible people.
