Communal incidents in Maharashtra have disturbed the peace in many villages in northern part of the state. Small towns like Dhule and Jalgoan districts have always been in the hotspot of communal riots. The phenomenon is seen from past many years which are occurring time and again on a large scale in the state, where many communities have drifted apart causing communal tensions. This week, IBN-Lokmat’s reporter Dipti Rautreports on specific measures taken up by the people in Jalgoan and Dhule region to fight riots and their heart drenching story on survival, on Sunday, 16th June 2013 at 11:30 am & 8.30 pm only on IBN-Lokmat.

For a state that has been at the forefront of social reforms and has always taken pride in its cosmopolitan tag, their communal violence is recorded highest in number in recent years. Communal tensions have risen to the highest level in Nashik, Jalgaon and Dhule districts in past five years. What is alarming is the feeling of uneasiness amongst the communities who are drifting apart in the name of social, political reasons. Violence appears to be flare up at the slightest provocation. People of the affected towns and villages in Jalgoan-Dhule have been craving for a normal life. Such unfortunate events take lives of thousands of innocent people with no reason. Yet many authorities remain to be biased about such horrifying act of mankind.

This week IBN-Lokmat’s Dipti Raut unfolds the battle of affected people who are struggling to live a peaceful life. Tune into Reportaaz on Sunday, 16th June 2013 at 11:30 am & 8.30 pm on IBN-Lokmat.
