Many patients are dependent on cadaver donations which are rare, only in some cases patient are able to get a matching donor. They say ‘When we donate an organ it is greatest way of charity’. Today, there is a need to spread awareness among people to donate organ. In many countries there are thousands of cases every day of kidney failure, lever failure etc. it becomes important to light the significance of organ donation and the correct procedure for someone willing to play the role. The retrieved organ can save someone’s life. Cadaveric transplant, in which a brain-dead person’s organs are retrieved and transplanted into an organ-failure patient, are still unheard in India. The situation is apparent when one looks at heart and lung transplants which one can be carried out with cadaveric or donation. The demand and supply ratio is pathetic even with regard to eye donation. There are many campaign and awareness programs run by the Government and organization on the importance of donating organs.

In recent times there has been a positive trend of people expressing willingness to donate organ. Each one us can bring in a change in someone’s life by donating organ. Growing awareness about organ donation and body donation has in fact, helped many find a new lease of life.
