Costa Mesa, Calif.— On Saturday, May 16th from 8a.m. to 11 a.m., Innovative Results Gym (IR), Orange County’s Fitness Playground, welcomes back FitnessWave to offer Hydrostatic (Underwater) Body Fat Testing. FitnessWave’s return is one of the many exciting partnerships that IR engages in to continue to improve the quality of life of its clients.
Most conventional gyms and fitness facilities use a variety of measuring tools to determine body composition. The scale, of course, is the most widespread, followed by the measuring tape and calipers. Although using a combination of these tools may provide a strong sense of a person’s overall body composition, the margin of error is far too great.
Hydrostatic Testing provides the most accurate way of assessing body composition. While underwater weighing has been around for over 50 years, FitnessWave(http://www.fitnesswave.com/portal/portal/getdunked/) has been the pioneer in this field for nearly twenty years. Using Archimedes’ principle of what happens to a body submerged in water, the FitnessWave method evaluates what sinks and what floats: lean mass - bone, muscle, and connective tissue — sinks because it’s more dense than water; body fat floats because it’s less dense than water.
FitnessWave provides a comprehensive report that includes, but is not limited to, body fat percentage, lean mass, and total weight. IR clients have the benefit of hands-on coaching to help them get to their goals. As Innovative Results Co-Owner and Head Coach Aaron Guyett points out: “We love using it to show body fat reductions, but even more to show how much the client’s metabolic engine (their lean body mass percentage) has grown.
Since 2005, Innovative Results has been offering cutting edge programming that is safe, effective, and fun. IR draws clients from Orange, Riverside, and LA County to experience the trademark IR3 system: mindset, movement, recovery.
