New Respiratory Fit Testing class and Service for Allstar Enviro Safety

Allstar Enviro Safety is pleased to announce that their lead Safety Consultant, Arliss T.E. Levine, has been certified as a Qualitative Fit Tester for Respirators.

Allstar Enviro Safety offers a variety of classroom based programs, such as H2S Alive  as well as over 100 on line safety seminars. An exciting new program regarding safety while using respirators should provide a fresh approach to personnel who want to wear their half and full mask respirators safely, when filtered cartridges are being utilzed.

Allstar Enviro Safety's lead instructor, Arliss T E Levine, CRSP, CHSC,BA, NEBOSH IOGC and COR Auditor  has taught respirator safety for Self Contained and Supplied Air breathing apparatus, that requires positive pressure rather than air on demand for many years.  This new one day course has will interest personnel who want better verification of their fit when different size faces, glasses, scars, beards and other barriers prevent a proper fit.  The Qualitative testing verifies that fumes, vapours, and small particulates are not entering the mask, and works better than using a negative pressure test.

Allstar Enviro Safety now offers Respiratory Fit Testing for clients who need quantitative testing on their own masks at their site but are not interested in taking a class on the subject. An irritant smoke , such as bitrex is introduced near the mask to indicate whether the odor gets under the mask.  This testing is a requirement under Alberta Occupational Health and Safety when the worker could be exposed to occupational disease from a leak in the mask.
