Native American Tribal Traditions Thwart Relationship!

DENVER, COLORADO, April 14, 2016 — Metamorphosis - One Woman's Journey to Find Serenity & Empowerment is a deeply vulnerable account of Sue Relihan’s journey as she attempts to find love and success. Sue shares how she became accustomed to paying a high price for acceptance.

Sue intertwines her pursuit of professional success and her quest for love from a Native American man who could not openly acknowledge his love for her to his closest friends and family. When she and Michael were alone their relationship was magical, spiritual and deeply fulfilling, but ultimately it represented her invisibility and her willingness to pay for love.

In the same way at the height of her career, Sue was considered a national expert on law enforcement policy, but she never completely fit in, spending most of her career hiding behind a façade she created for her own protection. When Sue got sick in 2009, all of her worlds collided and she could no longer live life in the same way. It was time to decide if she wanted to wither inside her cocoon or choose to begin to live and thrive.

Sue Relihan spent 26 years as a civilian manager in law enforcement and nearly died from the stress. She knew she needed to change her life. She recognized that a lot of her stress was based on a lack of authentic self-confidence. For decades, she had put on a mask and showed up in her profession as very strong independent intelligent successful women with a big ego. Yet underneath, the mask was an even bigger inferiority complex and lack of self-esteem. She had spent too many years living by the adage, “never let them see you sweat or cry.” So instead, she built up walls and created her own internal prison.

In 1996, she went to massage school and for 16 years she was a part-time licensed certified massage therapist working evenings and weekends. After a near death experience in September of 2009 she left her government job and began to build a full-time wellness practice. Later she became a Registered Psychotherapist, a Certified Hypnotherapist (CHt), and a Certified Hypnotic Coach (CHC).

In order to practice each of these modalities, Sue is a Licensed Certified Massage Therapist, a Reiki Master Teacher, a Certified Hypnotherapist, a Certified Hypnotic Coach and a Registered Psychotherapist with the State of Colorado. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado and is active in numerous healing arts related professional associations/organizations.
