Nagpur showcases scientific creativity at BrainCafé Budding Scientist Contest 2013

BrainCafé organizes BrainCafé Budding Scientist Contest in Nagpur to motivate young minds with scientific learning

December 28, 2013:-- From launching a Pump working on wind to creating a Hydraulic arm, many such interesting experiments were demonstrated at the ‘BrainCafé Budding Scientist Contest 2013’ organized by BrainCafé, an unique experiential learning programme with its trademark pedagogy QUAR Câ„¢ for schools in India which aims to bring the best of science education to Indian schools. The competition observed participation from over 100 students across 20 schools showcasing their talent in the field of Science. The event took place at School of Scholars, Nagpur

Students from renowned schools across cities such as Meghe Group of Schools Nagpur, Swami Vivekanand integration English School Latur, Sanskar Dnyanpeeth  Khamgaon, Deogiri global Academy Aurangabad, Yugantar Public School Rajnandgaon, Satpuda Valley Public School Balaghat, R D PUBLIC SCHOOL BETUL etc exhibited their models based on scientific principles.

Mr Mayank Jain, Business Head, BrainCafé, said, “The BrainCafé Budding Scientist Contest is one of India’s largest Science competition that provides students with the unique platform to showcase their ability to apply scientific principles for creating working models. The objective of this competition is to unleash the creativity in a child to invent or innovate based on their understanding of science and how it can help bring about a change to humankind in small unique ways. Held across different levels, from School to the National level, the contest attempts to develop High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) among students through the route of Science. In BrainCafé we are on a mission to ‘Unlock the learning potential of the child’ through activity based, hands-on programmes that go with our belief of “Learning by Doing”.

 “The range of innovations demonstrated by BrainCafé students during the contest had been beyond belief. From Hydraulic Lift to Elevator, Solar Car to Rotating lamp, Barometer to Wind Mill— the diversity of creativity was phenomenal. The projects were demonstrated applying the BrainCafé system of learning scientific principles,” said Sandhaya Dhole, Maharashtra BrainCafé Mentor .
