City based industrialist and Chairman of Duroshox Private Limited, Mr.Anil Goel, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry — Pune (CII). He has taken over the chairmanship from Meher Pudumjee, Chairperson Thermax, of CII-Pune Zonal Council for the year 2015- 16. Mr. Goel was Vice Chairman of CII-Pune Zonal Council for the year 2014-15.

 

A Mechanical engineering graduate from Thapar University, Patiala, Mr. Goel is a serial entrepreneur and has founded various manufacturing businesses in his career. He is currently the Chairman at Duroshox, a niche manufacturer in the engineering and vehicle component industry. The company wasfounded by Mr. Anil Goel in 1987 and is currently a leading supplier for specialized engineering components to customers worldwide.

Thanking CII for entrusting him with such a prestigious responsibility, Mr. Goel said that ‘I look forward to leading various initiatives of CII - Pune aimed at promoting further developments in Pune.’ Explaining his Vision for CII further, he stated that ‘with the objective to create a conductive environment for industrial growth, we will focus on the following agenda:

Increase support to SME’s with the help of professional training, b. encourage industries to fulfill their CSR responsibilities and co-operate with civic authorities c. Promote ‘ Make in India’ by focusing on India’s place in an increasingly global economy, promoting delegations from India to foreign counties and vice — versa’

 

Mr. Goel has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by Deccan Chamber of Commerce during 2011-12.
