2014’s most awaited character — DRAUPADI
 

STAR PLUS’ Mahabharat is all geared to mark the entry of one of 2014’s most awaited and Mahabharat’s most important characters -Draupadi. Pooja Sharma, former Miss India runner up, has been chosen to play this iconic character.

Its known that that Draupadi was a combination of beauty & will! But what very few of us know is that she was born out of a fire directly as a 25 years old woman. The fire was a result of a yagnyaperformed by the great saints to bless Drupad with a son. The yagnya gifted Draupad not only a son, Drishtadyumna but also an beautiful daugther Draupadi. Hence it’s believed that Draupadi has all the attributes of fire. She has taap (temper) and tej (brightness), she is also considered pure and fearless.

“Druapdi’s character comes with a lot of intrigue; the story takes a new dimension with the entry of one of the strongest, beautiful and glorious characters. I am extremely excited to play the role of Draupadi and am confident that the today's audience will relate with her in every way,” says Pooja Sharma who is excited as she will be seen onscreen as Draupadi from 10^th January 2014.

Mystery has often been around why her life was filled with tragedies, this will be discovered during her birth sequence. The essence of the character will beautifully portray the belief that Draupadi was considered to be a personified Lotus â€˜adharam ke keechad main dharam ka kamal’,the show will also take the audience through her strong bond with Krishna, her relationship with each Pandava and the biggest turning point of the story — the cheerharan.
